How Western Aggression Is Framed as Peace While Muslim Resistance Is Called Terrorism

When Muslims struggle to protect their religion, culture, rights, and identity, the global media and so-called opportunistic human rights advocates label it as "extremism" or "fundamentalism." However, this is not aggression; rather, it is a nation’s rightful sense of self-defense—something that is clearly permitted in Islam. In Surah Al-Hajj, Allah Almighty states, "Indeed, those who have been wronged are permitted to defend themselves."

The United States, time and again, in pursuit of its dominance, has bombed countless countries like Japan, Vietnam, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, and Palestine under the pretext of "establishing democracy," resulting in the deaths of millions of innocent people. Yet, during those times, humanity, international law, the United Nations, or the conscience of the Western media remain silent; they no longer see “extremism.” Because to them, if a Muslim takes up arms in self-defense, he is a "terrorist," but America’s countless bombs are seen as part of a "peace mission"! This double standard is, in reality, a trap—designed to suppress the rightful struggle of Muslims.

Due to the hypocritical double standards of the conscience-dead media, the United States continues to use its allied nations to invade others’ territories, destroy economies, overthrow governments, interfere militarily, and carry out religiously offensive extremist actions. Yet, no one feels the need to hold them accountable. Instead, the so-called ‘guardians of civilization’—the Western powers—keep fueling wars repeatedly. The result? Endangered humanity, waves of refugees, and children weeping amid ruins. And through media propaganda—deliberate misinformation—they shift the blame onto Muslims. Thus, Western nations carry out endless aggression while posing as "ambassadors of peace."

The struggle of Muslims in self-defense is never extremism. Rather, it is the political and military aggression of the West that is the most dangerous form of extremism in today’s world. Western powers glorify their bomb politics as "peace missions" while portraying Muslim efforts at self-preservation as a threat to global peace. This is a cruel lie. In doing so, they attempt to suppress Muslim resistance and impose a kind of "psychological colonization."

As members of the Muslim Ummah, it is our duty to remain steadfast upon the principles of the Qur’an and Sunnah, to courageously recognize this reality, to respond to false propaganda, and—through Islamic self-reflection—stand firm for truth and justice while speaking out against injustice. As Muslims, standing up for humanity is our undeniable obligation.
